A Happy & Healthy Holiday is Easier than you Think!
How to stay active and healthy this holiday season
We all know the struggle when it comes to staying active over the holidays. With good food, traveling, family time, relaxation, and fun to keep you busy, staying active and focusing on your health is probably the last thing on your mind. But remember, it is easier to keep a habit than it is to start all over again from the beginning. Instead of telling yourself, “I’ll just wait until January”, and letting all that hard work over the last few months go to waste over the holidays, make it a point to find time to be active and keep those good habits going.
We are here to help you with some of our Trainer’s thoughts for how you can stay active and healthy over this busy holiday season, as well as, a short Bodyweight Strength Workout you can do from anywhere.

Check out what our Trainer’s had to say about staying active & healthy over the holidays:
“Take advantage of family time and engage everyone in a fun active sports competition around the neighborhood. Not only will you spend time enjoying each other’s company in an active way, but you will also burn some extra calories from all of those delicious holiday treats!” (Micheal M.)
“Any break poses a threat to your normal routine, so before your break starts try to plan ahead. If you’re traveling, look up to see if there is a gym nearby that you could get a guest pass to attend. If you don’t have access to a gym, find some simple at home/outdoor workouts that you would enjoy. Then invite your friends and family to join you, that way you don’t have to choose between quality family time and being active. Most importantly, remember to give yourself a break and don’t sweat it if you are unable to do your full normal routine. Do what you can and be happy with that!” (Justis C.)
“Holidays are a great time to just spend time with family and relax. Taking not only a physical break but a mental one as well is important for overall health and well-being. It is also a great time to look back and evaluate your previous goals and set new ones moving forward. Remember, relaxing doesn’t mean cutting out physical activity completely, but maybe find a new and different way to be active that can include the whole family. Maybe play some football, soccer, go for a walk on the beach. Being in Florida this time of year is great to do some different outdoor activities in the cooler temps.” (Pedro M.)
“Use the holidays as a time to find an accountability partner or workout buddy. Family members and friends can be the motivational aspects to a fitness journey. Enjoy the time off and don’t give up on those goals you have been working hard for.” (Brittany S.)
“Everything in moderation is key! Enjoy the holidays but be cautious of completely off-tracking your goals. Set specific times during the week when you know you can fit in activity, even if it is just walking around the block. Moderation also goes for those delicious holiday foods. Enjoy the holiday feasts but remember you don’t have to feast every day.” (Becky C.)
“Have a family workout session in the morning before you start the holiday festivities! That way you will be nice and hungry, as well as feel more like you earned the impending feast” (Elijah B.)
