Despite the recent hype, meal prepping is not an entirely new concept. If you can pack your lunch, you can meal prep. The point is simple: get the bulk of your cooking done at once, so when you’re dragging yourself through your busy schedule, figuring out where to stop for lunch is the least of your worries. You can cook all your meals on Sunday afternoon, or cook larger meals a couple times per week and pack the leftovers.
Although it might seem easiest to cook a lot of one meal and eat the same thing every day, you might want to consider making at least two different recipes so you don’t get bored of having the same meal over and over. Step 1: Pick Your Recipes Consider your unique schedule: do you need to bring your breakfast or dinner with you to campus? What about snacks? Step 2: Make a Shopping List Don’t forget the veggies! Step 3: Prepare and/or Cook the Food Be safe when handling knives and hot items, and make sure to watch closely to prevent fires—or burning your precious food.
